La Reina del Glamour

Known in Spain as “La Reina del Glamour” and “La Perla de Manila”. Mother of the Latin international pop star Enrique Iglesias and ex-wife of Julio Iglesias. She’s no other than Isabel Preysler Arrastias.

In 1970, she was introduced to Julio whom at the time wasn’t famous yet and being a singer was still a dream. After 7 months they were engaged and got married. The marriage lasted for 7 years and produced three beautiful children, Chabeli, Julio Jr. and Enrique. Julio and Isabel became overnight superstars as a singer (Julio) and as a supermodel (Isabel). Isabel started her career as a journalist in 1978 in the Spanish magazine ¡Hola! and had Julio as her first interviewee. Isn’t that crazy? She got married again but a very short lived one with the Marquis de Grignon, Carlos Falco. She had Tamara as her second daughter with Falco. Then she had another marriage, this time with the Spanish finance minister, Miguel Boyer and had another daughter Ana.

She also hosted a Spanish lifestyle TV programme “Hoy”. Then had many other endorsements like for Ferrero Rocher, Suarez Jewelry, Porcelanosa, etc. She recently launched her own website for the request of her biggest fan, her son Enrique. Why won’t he be a fan? After all, her mother is a part of his beautiful genes.

Am talking about the lead Pussy Cat of PussyCat Dolls, Nicole Scherzinger. She was born in Hawaii with a Filipino father and a Russian/Hawaiian mother. Nicole is simply born to perform. She attended performing arts school and did theater in Louisville, Kentucky.

It was in 2001 when she joined in a TV show by WB Popstars and gained a spot in an all girl group called “Eden’s Crush”. Nicole joined The PCD burlesque group that was then reformatted as a singing group. It was actually the PCDs performance in the Late Show with David Letterman with Carmen Electra that caught her eye because it reminded her role as Velma Kelly in the theater play Chicago back in college. And then as they say, the rest is history. They already have the world wide popularity that they worked hard for.

PCD Presents: The Search for the Next Doll

Then the winner of the PCDs reality show PCD Presents: The Search for the Next Doll, is another Fil-Am beauty. She’s Asia Nitollano. Asia is the daughter of R&B musician Joe Bataan, which is an Afro-Filipino American Latin. It was according to the PCD’s founder and judge of the said reality show, Robin Antin, that she’s not the strongest singer of the final three, but she got the strongest stage prescence and a total performer. Asia is also a proud mother of a two-year-old daughter. Iba talaga ang galing ng Pinay!!!
