Enough of ANTM. It’s time for the one who created it. The one, the only Tyra Banks. First of all, I’d have to say that I really, really love her! She definitely is a role model to follow not only for the girls but to all.
I won’t post here her whole biography and all but I’ll share you some trivia bout her.
Her name became prominent as a supermodel when she did the cover for Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue. She’s also one of the original Victoria’s Secret Angels. As we all know, she created and hosts her phenomenal reality show, America’s Next Top Model (fellow judges include: Nigel Barker, Jay Alexander and Twiggy). She also had a chance to be a recording artist. Even though it didn’t made it big in the record bars, I still love it : Shake Ya Body, which featured some of ANTM cycle 2 contestants. Of course she also did minor roles in some movies like Higher Learning, A Woman Like That, Cayote Ugly, etc. As funny person herself, she also did a stint in MadTv.
She’d been through a lot of insecurity issues like her stick thin body before and curvaceous figure now, her five finger forehead, not to mention being a woman of color in the fashion idustry etc. So perhaps that’s the reason behind all the things she does for woman empowerment.
Ms. Banks created her own leadership program called the TZONE. This organization helps a lot of girls to gain self esteem and self empowerment and inspire them to become effective confident leaders in their own community. She also help some of the African American girls to attend her high school alma mater, the Immaculate Heart High School, through her Tyra Banks Scholarship.
Tyra’s now retired from modeling and concentrating on her very own talk show Tyra Banks Show. For me and I guess for a lot of people out there, she’s definitely the next Oprah Winfrey. Since her retirement, she’s enjoying her more curvaceous body without freaking out much. After all the issues about her weight and figure, she’s still not in pain according to her. If that body gives her hell much money, then why and how could she possibly feel the pain?

“…Not everyone was, let’s say, superfriendly, but Tyra was always nice. She shared her experience and knowledge with me. In this industry there are a lot of people who don’t want to help each other, but I guess Tyra was and is secure because she was always willing to share what she had learned—and, trust me, I asked a lot of questions…”
