Fragile Mind

I read a local tabloid yesterday and I don’t know if I’ll be surprised or annoyed with this article. Will you believe that the show “Teletubbies” which is for infants, promotes homosexuality? Who’s the suspect you may ask. The purple and the tallest one, Tinky Winky. They  accused the poor creature in a discreet promotion of an alternative way of living just because it carries a red handbag with it.

Teletubbies is a kiddie show that primarily shows 4 cuddly and cheerful characters in their own fantasy world. They are Tinky Winky, Dipsy, Laa Laa, & the cutest one, Po. Named teletubbies because of their television like tummies where they watch their friends from our world. Complete with antenas on their heads too. Litterally, they are kids playing around in their big playground and enjoying a simple life.

My big question for this people is: for whom is the show created for in the first place? Of course it’s for kids, for infants! What the hell do they know of homosexuality? Or are they the ones who have a certain descrimination of the gay community and being too descreet about it? And how can they tell that the purplish creature is even a boy? Come on now… Leave the freakin kids’ show alone… People, there are a lot of things that badly needs our attention. Poverty, pollution, corruption, homeless people, etc,.

These are my celebrity “look alikes”… And it says here that one of ‘em is Jericho Rosales. I always thought that I’m more of a matinee idol material than him… *EHEM*EHEM*EHEM*

And Oh! There’s Zhang Ziyi! Yey me!

I don’t know if reality is now synonymous with drama… I mean, whatever the show is about, I get to see people crying, cat fighting and stuff. And yet, we are very amused and intrigued at the same time watching them do all those. Does the word “real” still means the word itself. Let’s take the Amazing Race. The challenges are not like your ordinary everyday routine, but it shows how people would react on certain situations. They do all sort of strategies and stuff to win and in the process there might be things that they argue with. Another popular one is the Survivor… This one can really bring on hardcore drama, or maybe insanity. From the title itself, you have to survive. I’ve seen some seasons of it but I’m not that hooked into it. Duh?! Haven’t been trapped in an island before! But just incase it would ever happen (hope not), I guess I can learn a thing or two from it (kindda). Well, in some of my previous posts, it’s quite obvious that I love America’s Next Top Model. This show, even if you’re not a model wannabe, would teach you self esteem. When people think that modeling is all about striking a feirce pose, strutting on the runway, and talk the talk, it’s not. It takes what is inside first then pulling it out. See! I’m learning! HEhehe!

There’s another reality show that I really, really love. Not just because I’m into fashion and all that. It’s because I can relate on this one. I’m talking about Project Runway. This show features aspiring new fashion designers and their fresh talents. Project Runway is hosted by Tyra Banks’ former fellow Victoria’s Secret Model, Ms. Heidi Klum. Every week they give the designers a theme on the clothing that they gonna work on. Every week they will be judged on how they designed, their execution, and on how well they take in the challenge. Also every week there would be one to be eliminated.

In Architecture, we design structures and stuff and one of the major thing we do in designing is the conceptualizing and sketching. Same in fashion design. You have to be inspired to be able to deliver. And also on the show they have Tim Gunn, director of Parsons school of Fashion Design. And I see him like my own professors, walking around the work room just like in my design class, then he give the designers his very professional & honest critic on each contestant. His favorite line, “make it work!” Then in the judging, it’s more like delivering a thesis for me. You get to defend the thing you created and then each judge would ask you several questions and their own personal critic.

Now, the show is going on its 4th season and I’m hoping that it would be an exciting one. It would be fun to see new faces, new characters in the show.

I guess all this rains mean only one thing…summer vacation’s over, hello rainy season! It was freaking cold this morning. Last night I had to have two shirts on. Oh well… I don’t think sleepin at night would be a problem now.  Looking forward on the days to come, I don’t know if there’s something to be excited about. But once in a while I surprise myself on actually being excited to be back in school. “I just had a freakin summer class and now I’m excited? What the…” Hehe! I guess it’s beacause I just want to redeem myself after all those messing up that I did. Oh boy… I have to…

Can’t help it man! My fascination over photography and Fashion is very undeniable. Why do you think would i want to watch such a show instead of sports thingy if i’m not into it. I mean, eversince i was a kid i’m into art. First, scribbling and doodling on papers and sometimes on furnitures and stuff. Then i attended some art and painting summer classes back in elementary. Later on I began to be hooked on Music which is by the way another passion of mine. Then just recently i’m into photography (not that i have a professional camera of my own which i wish i have). Haaay… Many people would think that its very queer. My answer, “the hell do I care”! If that would make me real as a person, the more that I would go further into it. If you have passion for something, learn your craft and hone what you learned. Stay real, and at the end of the day you’ll be happy. Why would you care of what people think? You have your own problems to solve, you have your own things to do, you have your own life to live. Some people just can’t keep their minds on their own thing. Just don’t be overwhelmed by anybody else’s insecurity then you’ll be just fine…
